No leito do rio Tibre, em pleno centro de Roma, a ilha abriga história que se confunde com a natureza. À esquerda da imagem estão as ruínas daquela que era a mais antiga ponte em arco construída em pedra em Roma, hoje designada como Ponte Partida. Os mais antigos pilares da ponte foram provavelmente assentes quando a Via Aurélia foi construída, em meados do século II a.C.

On the bed of the Tiber river, in the center of Rome, the island is home of history that blends with nature. In the left of image are the ruins of what was the oldest stone-built arch bridge in Rome, today known as “Ponte Partida”. The oldest pillars of the bridge are probably laid when the Via Aurelia was built, in the middle of the 2nd century BC.
